03 Nov CellProthera selected for JETRO’s Japan Entry Acceleration Program
The program will support CellProthera’s market-entry strategy in Japan and help identify clinical, research and industry partnerships
Mulhouse, France, November 2, 2026 — CellProthera, a clinical-stage company developing regenerative cell therapies for ischemic diseases, today announced its selection for the Japan Entry Acceleration Program 2026 (JEAP 2026). Organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), with support from the Forum for Innovative Regenerative Medicine (FIRM), the program helps international companies in regenerative medicine and cell and gene therapy prepare their entry into Japan and explore strategic partnerships.
The program covers regulatory and reimbursement matters, research and clinical development, and business strategy. It also offers opportunities to engage with academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, clinical and manufacturing service providers, and investors.
The selection comes as CellProthera prepares its Phase III clinical trial of ProtheraCytes® in patients following myocardial infarction with Japan under consideration as a participating country. The company is also exploring translational research collaborations in Japan for its early-stage indication. Through the program, CellProthera aims to identify clinical, research and financial partners and to lay the foundations for its long-term development in the country.
“Japan is a key market in our international development strategy. We are pleased to have been selected by JETRO for this program.” said Matthieu De Kalbermatten, CEO of CellProthera. “As we strengthen our presence in one of the most advanced countries for regenerative medicine, we look forward to exploring new collaborations that can support the development of ProtheraCytes® and the broader potential of our cell therapy platform.”
